USE & SAFETY
The saw arrived and opened it up , locked in place couldn’t believe how sturdy this was when locked in place. Cuts very nicely. Always like carting a bow saw on my winter backpacking trips to process firewood better sometimes strapping the bow saw to my pack even tried removing the blade for ease of carry but the the blade is hard to transport. Best way is to roll the blade inside the cook pot. I more worries with this bow saw. The blade is tucked away and actually folded it fits inside the pack nicely. Should have bought one years ago!!
Best backpack saw ever!
I absolutely love my Boreal24! It is fast to fold/unfold, it is all one piece, no parts to get lost unlike all the other folding bow saws. And it is very rigid and sturdy while still being extremely lightweight. Agawa's customer service is excellent as well, a very important part of business as we all know. Initially I received the wrong blade with my saw, but I contacted customer service and they shipped the right one to me within 24 hours, at no additional cost. As a wildland firefighter, this saw is an important part of my personal gear, and I am proud to be the owner of such a fine piece of equipment, and the envy of my coworkers.
I have the boreal15 as well. They both work absolutely amazingly!!! Way better than I had expected!
3” more awesome than the 21!
These are awesome saws!
Those little folding saws that everyone uses in modern times are good for crafting projects and maybe firewood for a twig type stove. Bow saws are the mack daddy of large firewood chores. Problem is bow saws are almost impossible to backpack in. That's where the Boreal 24 is the clear winner. It easily folds up and can be put in a pack or strapped to the outside of a pack. I strap mine to my bed roll. Once the saw is unfolded it's a workhorse. Handles large firewood with ease, could probably fell a large tree if you had the proper wedges and I'm convinced you could build a log shelter or cabin with this saw.
